Dr. Robin Stern

Dr. Robin Stern is one of the most recognized experts at applying proven emotional intelligence techniques to help organizations, schools and individuals. She came to focus on emotional intelligence as her kids grew older and realized that she needed new skills to be the parent she aspired to be.

With over twenty-five years of experience as a psychotherapist, earning a doctorate in applied psychology from New York University, being an Associate Director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and publishing numerous articles and books, including The Gaslight Effect: How to spot and Survive the Hidden Manipulation That Others Use to Control Your Life, she banded together with a group of industry experts to create an easy app-based emotional learning system for teams and companies.

Robin continues to work with the Oji team with a shared aspiration to help unlock the best learning from academia and beyond to make a big difference in people’s lives.

For years, Robin Stern, Marc Brackett and other experts from the Yale Center For Emotional Intelligence used RULER to help schools understand the value of emotions, build the skills of emotional intelligence, and create and maintain a positive school climate. In 2018, Robin cofounded Oji Life Lab along with Marc Brackett to give business leaders the same benefits of RULER, but in the workplace.

They developed the ‘Emotion Life Lab’, a digital learning system for organizations which helps people develop essential emotional intelligence skills that drive performance in the workplace and in life.
